Racing Backwards

I wonder what it’s like to have parents who don’t hate you, and who think your every action is for their displeasure.

• Plantains/tostones
• Bake
• Vegetable curry
• Arroz con frijoles
• Arroz con gandules
• Tofurky (or whatever seitan thing I find at WFoods because T-giving)
• Mofongo
• Curried tofu
• Mashed potatoes
• Stuffing

The only thing I will miss when I go away to college: Guyanese curry. I will never find a place that makes it, and if I do it won’t be as good as homemade. Or with wiri wiri peppers. The roti is from the local west Indian shop. It’s good, but not as good as grandma’s.
